New items posted in the shop today!

I spent the morning making blankets and posting all the new outfits I made late last week.

All are available for sale via my Etsy store!

I used a doll my aunt made for me as a child as the model for my new blankets, as she is the same size as a 2 year old.

It was nice to play with my old friend.

Getting ready for the shop

I have sewn for another two days and produced some more great things.

Here is a sneak peak....I will only show the fabrics!!

They are the newest Double Tie outfits and I love this batch as much as the first.

I am hoping that these will be just as popular and that someone will fall in love with them as well!

I decided to make a new style dress in a size 2-3T

I call it the "Cupcake Dress", I swear I smelt chocolate every time I used the iron on it. Luscious chocolate swirls and rows of cherries and strawberries. Yum, yum...who wouldn't want this for their little sweetie!!

This dress will be posting on the shop later this weekend as well.

I made a VERY pink apron for my sister in law, she wanted an apron that Bree of Desperate Housewives would wear.
This is what I came up with, ruffles and all!!

Cutting fabric

I stayed home from school today, as gas prices seem to be making my decisions. I can barely justify my driving 80 miles to and from school.
I am going to be trying some new printing techniques, as my school is beginning the summer break.
As for now I am cutting fabric and plan on cutting some more tomorrow, followed with an afternoon of sewing.

I sometimes hesitate cutting new fabric as I am so in love with it, but my desire to want to share it overrides and so I cut and then sew, and fall in love with the clothes they become.

Today is custom work...

I will be cutting more fabric tonight and tomorrow to make more baby goods.
As for today, I was making custom items for customer requests.
It was a little frustrating...but I knew that if I got the custom stuff out of the way I could get back into my routine.

The Bird & The Bean

I have been sewing stuff for awhile, it all started when a friend got pregnant. I made her little girl a really scary looking stuffed cat. I wouldn't even play with it!

I did horribly in Home Economics in Jr high school, but after much time and reading, I discovered that my teacher was wrong...I can sew!

It started the ball rolling and as more and more friends and family started having kids I kept making more and more things. People often asked if I had made these things for my kids,

I don't have any kids of my own, turns out I can not make them.
So instead I started sewing these goods out of the love and desire to see kids in them!

I now have a shop up and at 'em and I thought it was about time to show the down and dirty reality of what my day to day is.

I quit my job in the Customer Service field, as I was being screamed at for too long (8years) and with the encouragement of my husband and parents I went back to pursuing my real love.

The art of making things...drawing, printing, sewing, crafting and gardening.

I work at what use to be my kitchen table and make things for days on end, then use my family and friends kids as models and try to sell the goods.

I will be starting a webshop that sells my fine art soon, but today I have special orders up to my ears and I need to get those all done so I can see straight.
